Our Mission
The mission of the Student and Family Support Program (SFSP) is to provide services, programs, resources and activities for African American students and families leading to academic excellence, social emotional development and life skills needed for successful living.
Our summer program, "Summer Advance 2022," which operated August 1st through the 26th was a great success! The program was for students who had completed Kindergarten through those who had completed grade 5. The participants improved their math, reading and writing skills, participated in social emotional learning, engaged in physical fitness activities and went on four great field trips, including the Museum of Flight, the Legends Ranch (horseback riding), the High School Summer Musical, and the Seattle Aquarium. Our hope is to have another program in the Summer of 2023. Stay tuned!

Helping Your Child to Succeed
Beginning in the fall of 2020, the Student & Family Program began to provide an opportunity for in-person instruction and support for elementary school students. This program was primarily for elementary school students of working parents who did not have an in-home option available to them when the public schools conducted 100% online-learning and when they implemented hybrid learning (50% at school and 50% at home). Over 60 students participated in the program.
The academic support assisted students with their online learning assigned to them by their regular school teacher. Instruction also included improvement in math, reading, writing and social emotional skills. Our goal is to help your child to succeed! |
